Agriculture

I have a passion for agriculture and education, having been involved in agricultural education and the National FFA Organization as a high school and college student. I credit my participation in the organization for helping me find a sense of belonging and for helping me discover a career that I was passionate about. I firmly believe that agriculture education and FFA can have a positive impact on all students, no matter what career they choose to pursue.

I am a lifelong resident of New Hampshire, having grown up on the seacoast. In high school I studied agriculture and biotechnology and was an active member of the National FFA Organization.

I went on to attend the University of New Hampshire where I earned my Bachelors in Agricultural Science Education and my Masters of Secondary Science Education. For the last ten year, I have been teaching high school agricultural science and serving as an FFA advisor.

In 2020, I was awarded the Granite State FFA Association Conner Memorial Outstanding Teacher/FFA Advisor Award. This award is given to seasoned agricultural teachers based on the recommendations of their students, fellow teachers and administration.

In 2022, I received the Granite State FFA Honorary State Degree, which is given to individuals who show dedication to agricultural education and FFA.

In 2023, I was selected as 1 of 100 teachers to attend the Walt Disney Company's 100 Teacher Celebration, part of the 100th anniversary of the company. 7900 teachers submitted essays illustrating their use of creativity and imagination in the classroom. The winning teachers were awarded with a trip to Disneyland during National Teacher's week to celebrate their accomplishments.

I am excited to join Benjamin Franklin Academy as the science teacher, grades 6-8, and the agricultural trades instructor. I hope to incorporate aspects of agriculture and history into the science curriculum
