Mr. Mike Dupont

Mr. Michael Dupont is the visionary and one of the founders of Benjamin Franklin Academy. He grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the small town of Gorham and served in the United States Army and New Hampshire Army National Guard for ten years. He is a combat veteran of the Iraq War and a recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge.

Mr. Dupont earned a bachelor’s degree in social science education and a masters degree in special education from Plymouth State University. He has taught high school social studies for a total of thirteen years in Hillsborough and Wilton, New Hampshire and at Founders Academy in Manchester. .

In 2016, Mr. Dupont was selected as the recipient of the James Madison Fellowship for the state of New Hampshire, which is awarded to social studies teachers for graduate studies in the history of the American Revolutionary era and the principles of the United States Constitution.

Mr. Dupont spent two years living in the Washington D.C. area while earning a masters degree in History at George Mason University. As part of the Madison Fellowship, he attended the Summer Institute on the Constitution at Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, Mr. Dupont had the privilege of touring the White House, the Library of Congress, Arlington National Cemetery and the Supreme Court where met the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Dupont is an avid traveler whose goal has been to travel to every place he teaches about. Along with his travels in the military he has backpacked Europe twice and visited the iconic locations of Western Civilization that include Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Turkey, Israel, France and England. Mr. Dupont has also road tripped throughout the United States in his 1985 Volkswagen Van, visiting many National Parks along with Revolutionary and Civil War Battlefields.

He enjoys reading, eating and cooking all types of foods, listening to his vinyl record collection, whitewater rafting and tending to his garden. Mr. Dupont owns and operates a small farm in Barrington, New Hampshire that he co-owns with a fellow veteran that he served with in Iraq.

He lives there with his fiancé, Despina and their beautiful daughter Elizabeth and two dogs, Maverick and Cooper.
